Centralia
Thursday, March 30th, 2006 @ 6:35 pmThe ruins of Centralia Pennsylvania no longer exists on some maps. The story began sometime in 1962 along the outskirts of town when trash was burned in the pit of an abandoned strip mine, which connected to a coal vein running near the surface. The burning trash caught the exposed vein of coal on fire. The fire was reported and thought to be extinguished but it apparently wasn’t. The coal then began to burn underground. That was in 1962.
…and it’s still fuckin burning! and there are wackos still living there! A whole bunch of interesting photos and more details about this place here..
The first thing I thought of when I read this was the Springfield tire fire..

Your guide to the corporate crapper
Sunday, December 18th, 2005 @ 1:27 amShoe characteristics are like fingerprints in the corporate bathroom. If you’re wearing those 1982 wing-tipped loafers, you better believe they’re going to be tied to that submarine you dropped in Stall 2 every time they’re made visible in the corporate setting.
My rule when it comes to crapping at work is hold it no matter how much it hurts — but if you must go, follow these rules!

Free Credit Report
Thursday, September 1st, 2005 @ 6:49 pmIt’s legit — I did it myself. Sponsored by the three big reporting companies. All they ask for is name/address/ss#. No credit card required, no subscription crap. They dont give you the credit “score” for free (it’s 6 bucks extra), but you can check your cards to make sure no identity theft is going on!

2005 MTV VMAs
(aka Eva Longoria’s cameltoe)
Monday, August 29th, 2005 @ 4:08 pm
So, for the first time in a couple years, I caught most of the MTV awards last night. Watched it in a window on my TV tuner card on the computer, so I wasn’t paying full attention, but I got most of it.
First, I think it’s great that Suge Knight got shot again at some pre-party Saturday night. Fantastic! Kudos to whoever gatted his ass — he’s a real piece of crap.
Second, Puff Daddy sucked as host. Chris Rock was so much better and MTV should never have let him go. Rock brought a lot of interest to an otherwise boring event filled with nothing but dumb musicians congratulating each other and thanking Jesus. His unscripted dissing of the random celebrities at the event was awesome. Even better were the reaction shots of his unsuspecting comedic targets.
Now, the random musings:
- I missed the Shakira performance, but heard it was pretty good.
- Puffy’s dancing and his constant “expect the unexpected” BS, I’m so cool egotistic attitude, and nonstop posing — giznay.
